About this format

The College Board has said that the AP Networking Exam is digital and has a multiple-choice section and a free-response section that uses real networking artifacts and evidence. It has not yet published the number of questions, timing, or weighting. Until it does, this exam copies the published format of AP Cybersecurity, its sister AP Career Kickstart course: 60 multiple-choice questions in 80 minutes (70%), including sets of 2–4 questions that share a stimulus, plus 1 multi-source free-response question in 50 minutes (30%). Units are weighted by the class time the course text gives them. When the College Board publishes the AP Networking format, this exam will be updated to match. See Updates.
